WeatherBarriers Unlimited joins growing list of Trinity's Women and
Children's Center supporters
A local business, WeatherBarriers Unlimited, donated the labor to
install the Tyvek wrap by DuPont, joining the growing list of
contributors and sponsors of Trinity Rescue Mission’s Women and
Children’s Center. Parksite Plunkett-Webster (PPW) out of Tampa,
represented by Jay Scott, donated the Tyvek wrap.
DuPont will warrant the building for five years. The DuPont Tyvek
wrap will keep both moisture and air out, while making the building
an energy-efficient home for women and children.
“There is such a great need,” said Bruce Peters, Vice President of
WeatherBarriers Unlimited and second vice-president of Northeast
Florida Builders Association, when asked why his company
participated in the project. “Protecting the building from moisture
will cut operating costs and give the women and children a safe
home.”
Peters’ wife, Jan, and her sister, Tere McWhirter, volunteered time
through their employment with Citibank.
“We have been so blessed,” said Jan Peters. “Our mother had us
volunteering before the age of 10, and we were taught to give back
to our communities.”
Trinity Rescue Mission appreciated the contribution.
“We were very happy to hear that PPW/DuPont was willing to donate
the weather barrier for the Women and Children’s Center,” said Gene
Pruett, executive director of Trinity Rescue Mission. “And, I was
ecstatic when I pulled up for work and realized that Bruce Peters,
his family and business partners were volunteering their time and
energy to install the weather barrier. This financial commitment of
their materials and services demonstrates their passion for women
and children and their community as a whole.”
Trinity Rescue Mission acknowledges and appreciates the following
volunteers who, in working with WeatherBarriers Unlimited, are
giving to the community through their employers: Bruce and Jan
Peters, Claude and Tere McWhirter, Brian Peters, Jeff Cain; Joe
Fernandez and Jay Scott both of PPW/DuPont.
