Generosity Doesn’t Have an Age Requirement

Meet Layla Pritchard.

Layla is 8 years old and has recently donated $106 to the Trinity Rescue Mission! It’s common for us to receive donations of this size, but it’s rare to receive such a large sum from someone of Layla’s age, so we decided to reach out to thank Layla and to learn more about why she has such a heart for the homeless here in Jacksonville.

Here’s what Layla said:

  • What made you want to give to Trinity Rescue Mission

“It was something that was on my heart for a long time.”

  • What made you think to give to the homeless?

“I like to be nice to others. It made me sad that others don’t have as much as me, so I wanted to help.”

  • What sacrifices did you make to give your money to people in need?

“I gave money that was from my birthday, holidays and allowance.”

We all have something to learn from Layla. What if we had her mentality towards people in need? God has blessed all of us so much, and He can do GREAT things when we give to better the lives of others. The size of the gift isn’t the most important thing, but the heart behind the giving. Click here to donate today!

“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” – 2 Corinthians 9:7
